Thiru Naduthurai Nadhar, Koil Kannapoore :

The place Thiru Kandrapoore is about 13 kms from Thiruvarore. This is one 275 Siva Devara sthalam.

The temple has Raja gopuram. The temple has two prakaram.

Main Deity is Swayambu Lingam known as Naduthari Nadhar and his consort known as Madhumai Nayaki / Sri Valli Nayaki. There is a cut on top of Siva Lingam.

Teertham is Siva Ganga and sthala Vruksham is Kalpanai.

Other Deities seen in the temple as we go round the prakaram are Vinayakar, Sunderaswarar, Six Vinayakar, Murugan, Durgai, Lingothbavar, and Krpaga Nadhar sanctum.

As we enter in we see Nandi to Nandi Mandapam

The Siva Lingam came out from the bundle of rope, which is used to tie the calf to pole. So he is known as “Naduthari Nadhar.”

Purana says a saiva girl named Kamalavalli was married to Vainava boy. The girl was devotee of Lord Siva and she continued doing pooja in cow shed after her marriage in her in- laws house secretly. She used to worship the bundle of rope as Siva Lingam. One day her husband came to know about this. He hit the rope bundle with his axe, from which Lord Siva came out with a cut, and blood oozing out of it. Kamalavalli and her husband were taken to kailasam.

Idumban worshiped Lord Siva of this place and he was blessed by Lord Siva. Thiru Navukkarasar sang Hymns on Lord Siva of this temple. Arunagirinadhar sang Thirupugazh on Lord Murugan.
