  1. Thiruvarore Araneri / Asalesam .



    This temple is one of 275 Devara sthalam of Lord Siva.



    This place Thiruvarore Araneri is within the main temple of Thirvarore Thiru Moolattanam.



    Main Deity is Swayambu Lingam known as Araneriappar facing west, and his consort known as Vandar Kuzhali ammai.




    Importance of this place is Naminadhiadigal Nayanar lit the lamp with water. This information is mentioned in the Thevaram (Hymns) sung by Thirunavukarasar.



    Stone inscriptions say The Araneri temple was built by Chembian madevi with the help of stones.


    Thiru Navukkarasar sang hymns on Lord Siva of this place.



  2. Paravayul Maandali



    This temple is opposite to Thiruvarore temple chariot halted at East Street. (Keezha Veedi)



    The temple is one of 275 Siva devara Sthalam.








    Main Deity in the temple is Swayambu Lingam known as Thuvai Nadhar and his consort known as Panjin melladi Ammai in different sanctum.



    Sthala purana says “Durvasa Muni” worshiped Lord Siva of this place hence the name “Dhurvasa Nayinaar.” “Sundarar” got back his eye sight, by having a dip in the pushkarani and worshiping Lord Siva.



    Sundarar sang hymns on Lord Siva of this place.

Thiruvaroore Thayagesar Temple.

  1. Thiruvaroore :



    The place Thiruvaroore is about 40 kms from Tanjavore. The place is known by several names like Kamalapuram, Musukundapuram, Mooladhapuram, Sakthipuram etc. This place is one of the mukthy sthalam.








    The main Raja Gopuram is of five storey. This is one of 275 Devara Sthalam. This is also prithivi kshetram of Pancha boodha sthalam.














    Here in this temple Thayagaraja sanctum is famous. Thyagesa perumal was brought by Musukundha chakravarthy from heaven and installed here. Thirumal worshiped Lord Siva in seven places which are known as sapthavidangar sthalam. Siva thandavam in the temple is known as Ajaba natanam. Thirumagal worshiped Lord Siva of this temple.




    Main Deity is Swayambu Lingam known as Arulmigu Vanmeega Nadhar and his consort known as Alliyang kodhai ammai.




    Teertham is Deva Teertham. There is a big pushkarani known as Kamalalayam. It is from this pushkarani sundarar took out the gold and gave it to Paravaiyar which was left in Manimutharu. Sundarar got his eye sight back in this place.









    Sthala Vruksham is Padari tree.




    Naminandhi Adigal, Serunthunai Nayanar, Thandi adigal, Veranminda Nayanar, and Kazharsinga Nayanar attained Moksha in this place.



    Sthala purana says, Vanmeega nadhar is called as Putridang kondar, and Thyagesayar is known as Veedhi vedangamudyar. This is mentioned in stone inscriptions also.




    Thiru Gyanaya Sambandhar, Thiru Navukkarasar, and Sundarar sang hymns on Lord Siva of this place. Arunagiri nadhar, Kumara guruparar, Chidambaram Muni, Manikkavachakar and Kachiappa Sivachariyar sang hymns on praise of Lord Siva.





    There are stone inscriptions belonging to 1st Paranthakan, 1st Rajarajan, 1st Rajendran, 1st Rajathirajan, 1st Kulothungan, Vikrama Cholan, and Nayaka kings are seen.

Thiru Tandalai, Thiruthurai poondy, Thiruvarore.

  1. Thiru Tandalai Neelneri / Velore.


    The place Tandalai, is about 3 kms to north of Thiruthurai poondy. The temple is known as Neelneri. This is one of the madak koil built by Cochenga Chozan. This is one of 275 Devara sthalam. Thiru Gyana Sambandhar sung hymns on Lord Siva of this temple



    The temple has Raja Gopuram and Prakaram. It was too late in the night when we reached the temple; we did not take picture of the temple.



    Main Deity is Swayambu Lingam known as Arulmigu Neelneri nadhar and his consort known as Gyanambikai. Teertham is Omaga Teertham and Sthala Vruksham is Orilai Kuruntham.



    As we go around the inner prakaram we see, Vinayakar, Arumugar, Soorya Chandran, Arivattaya Nayanar, Natarajar, Cochengat chozar and Siva Lingas worshiped by Vyagyapadhar and Patanjali muni.



    Sthala Purana says Thirumal when he took Kurma avatara, he was beyond control. Lord Siva had to control, Tirmal who was kurma. He had to punish Kurmam, to make Perumal realise his avatara. He wore the skin of Kurmam in this place.



    Arivata Nayanar was blessed by Lord Siva, and attained mokasha, in this place for his dedication towards worship of Lord Siva, even during the time of poverty he was facing. Arunagiri nadhar has mentioned this place as Vaippu sthalam in his composition.
