  1. Thirumullaivasal is one of 275 Siva Devara sthalam.

The place is about 12 kms from Seergazhi town near sea shore. The temple is of single prakaram.

Main deity is swayambu Lingam known as Arulmigu Mullaivana Nadhar / Maseelamaneeswarar and his consort Sri Anikonda kadai ammai. Teertham is Brahma Teertham and Chandra Teertham. Mullai plant is Sthala Vruksham.

We see Varasiddhi Vinayakar, Murugan, Dakshina Moorthy, Vairavar, And Thiru Gyana Sambandhar sanctums as we go around the temple.

Purana says Chola king Killivalavan went for hunting, and he reached the mullai vanam, and here his horse got its leg struck inside a bush. The King tried to cut the creeper and remove horse leg. Blood started oozing out from the place where he tried to cut the plant, he saw a Siva lingam inside the bush. He constructed a temple for Siva Lingam and worshipped him.

Goddess Uma worshipped Lord Siva, in this place by constantly repeating his Moola Mantra; she attained Sivagyanam.

A Brahamin named Kasavi performed his Father’s death rituals and he went to immerse the 'Asthi' in Vishnu teertham of this place, and the bones turned out to be diamonds. He completed the final rituals here in this place.

Purana says the well water here is equal to River Ganges.

Sambandhar sang hymns on Arul migu Mullaivana Nadhar of this temple.
